Toxins are a natural part of life and your body can and will absorb them from different factors such as beauty products, plastic containers, cooking utensils and the air we breathe. There are many different ways toxins can creep into the body and I have done some research regarding how to remove them from our precious bodies. The body naturally and continuously releases it’s toxins by itself, but the body does need help in detoxification.
Exercise is a great way to release toxins from the body because the body releases toxins when we sweat. Hot yoga classes are a great way to open up the muscles as well as allow the body to release toxins through sweating. This is one of the reasons you want to make sure you are not using beauty products with chemicals that will be absorbed into the body and cause blockage to the glands allow your body to sweat. So just remember the next time you start to sweat your body is releasing much of its unwanted toxins. Another way to remove toxins and dead skin cells is to do dry brushing before taking a shower everyday. Using a natural fiber brush in a light circular motion towards your heart will remove dead skin cell and boost circulation of the body.
Taking an Epsom salt bath is another great way to remove toxins from the body as well as give you a little relaxation time. The sulfates in Epsom salt helps to draw out the toxins and heavy metals from the cells, helping to eliminate harmful substances. Our skin is highly porous and adding the right minerals to your bath, like Epsom salt, triggers a process called reverse osmosis which pulls salt out of your body as well as toxins. If available to you at your local gym or sports facility if you have use of infrared sauna it is another great way to remove toxins from the body. Just like exercise, sweating it out will help to detoxify the body and the infrared rays will give you extra benefits such as improved blood circulation and increase metabolism.
Another great way to remove toxins from the body is through massage. Massaging the muscles allows for the release of any stored toxins the body is holding on to, however, it is very important to make sure you are hydrated before the massage and drinking extra water after the massage. At Greater Life Family Chiropractic we make sure to stress the importance of hydration when getting massaged in order to flush out the toxins that get released. Getting massages should be a part of your monthly self care regimen. Call you local wellness center or your San Diego Chiropractors office and see if they offer multiple services so you can get massaged, adjusted or enjoy their sauna. Keep in mind when you are detoxifying the body it can cause different after effects so I always try to make sure I don’t have much to do after and I can head home, relax and hydrate!
